WARNING: This post is full of spoilers. If you have not yet read What It Takes to Kill a Bull Moose, you will not want to scroll down this post – past the photo of Jackson Piper from Chapter 2. To do so would be to explore our running tally of all the ways that reality is becoming stranger than fiction. AND all the ways this award-winning book has come true (again).
This post will be updated as necessary by the author.
From the author’s forward in the book, you’ll recall that the original draft told the tale of a strongman President and a cast of candidates no one was excited to support. The second draft from 2016 included a sitting President refusing to accept the election results, resulting in a popular uprising to force him from office.
Now, in 2024, the Bull Moose book, with all its ominous mention of curses and folklore, has spun up a list of crazy, implausible, and nearly impossible connections between the book and the real world. Keep in mind that the final draft of the book was completed on May 15, 2024. It was uploaded to Amazon on June 10 and published in print for the first time on June 18, 2024. All of those original editions and every one after include the following eerie connections and predictions about America’s stormy present.
